True Inspiration

This was the drawing that started it all for me. It's drawn by a designer named Kenny Safford - the O.G. of modern moto design. My mom found it in a magazine (Popular Mechanics I think) and gave it to me. I remember just staring at this drawing and thinking - this is what I want to do with my life. I want to design motorcycle gear. So I went back to school, got a degree in Industrial Design, and dreamed of creating my own street motorcycle brand. Eleven years later Icon was released to market. I hope someday one of my products inspires someone the way this sketch still inspires me. -Kurt

Field Armor "Bullet Proof" Vest

To the guys at Icon:

I recently had a not so nice encounter with the front end of  a Toyota. To make a long story short I flew over the top of the car, at least that's what the witnesses told me, and landed flat on my back. What the paramedics called a "bullet proof vest" saved my back! I ended up with a broken thumb and a broken rib - needless to say I'm way better off than my bike! Thanks guys!

Flattery?

It happens all the time - people blatantly biting Icon's style. This beauty came to us out of Italy - look familiar? They should have called their company Bogart - that would at least be funny. Unfortunately this isn't funny - just sad plagiarizing garbage. 

Catalog Copywriting Time

A lot of people ask us who writes our catalog copy - while mildly witty and marginally clever it remains chocked full of grotesque grammatical atrocities. For the wittiness we would like to credit a ninth grade class in creative writing - mom was so proud. For the horrific butchering of the english language we would like to blame the Mai Tai's.

Hard high-side

To the manufacturer that saved my life!!

I had finished my dinner at a restaurant one chilly night, and was ready for the ride home. As I went to make a slow turn out of the parking lot, I put in a little too much throttle. With a cold tire on colder pavement, it wasn’t exactly the smartest thing to do. The bike fishtailed, but I was able to keep the front end up, until I hit a bump. Once that happened, my front wheel went to the right and I was thrown to the left. I hit the ground face-first…hard. My head bounced a good foot or two. I also dislocated my left shoulder on impact. I truly believe that if I wasn't wearing Icon, I wouldn't be here now.

Represent

Check out the early 09 Fall Helmet release, we just couldn't wait to turn this bad boy loose on the streets!!

The Alliance SSR Represent is a serious bit of kit. Firstly, it features a snarling possessed crop eared mauler of a canine. Not many people are stepping up to the dog plate given the current social climate. But if Icon is gonna come, than we're gonna come correct. If the graphics weren't enough, the supervents on the Represent can be adorned with an optional adhesive backed metal stud kit. On the chain or off, a spiked up collar goes a long way projecting that certain image.

Finally, and perhaps our greatest genius, is the choice of seven unique chinbar graphics (NorCal, SoCal, Detroit, Philly, New York, Dirty South, or Icon) to rep your favorite hood. Truly a lid thats down for the set. And to all the haters and nay-sayers - Icon does not support or condone any type of dog fighting. Never have, never will. Don't get it twisted.
